The former talented winger of Northeast United FC has signed a pre-contract with the ISL League winners as the Indian football transfer window has not opened yet. But whenever the Indian football transfer window opens Redeem Tlang can move over to Goa to join the team for pre-season activities.

The 25 years old winger belongs from Shillong, Meghalaya. He started off his career with Shillong Lajong and made his I-League debut for the club in 2013. With the back of a great performance season by season, Redeem Tlang joined Northeast United FC in 2018.

With Redeem on control of the right-wing and some great performance by the team, they reached the playoffs for the first time in 2018-2019 season in their ISL career so far.

This season, he improved his performance further than his first season in ISL in 2018-2019. He played 16 matches this season and has 3 goals on his name. He was on the pitch for a total of 1181 minutes. His improvement in performance is the biggest factor behind FC Goa picking him up.

“Redeem is a player we have admired for some time now. He has impressed everyone over the last two seasons in the Indian Super League with NorthEast United FC, I am sure his pace and ability will make a significant contribution to the team.” FC Goa President Akshay Tandon added after snatching up the Northeast United FC star.

Overjoyed Redeem Tlang stated, “I am overjoyed, I have always been an admirer of FC Goa and now to call myself a Gaur, it is one of the best moments of my life. I have enjoyed my time at NorthEast United but I am thrilled to have the chance to challenge for the biggest honours in Indian football here.

“Playing in front of the passionate football fans in Goa and alongside some of the best players in the country will be an amazing experience. I can’t wait to get started.” He further added on the official press release.

This is the first signing of the season for the Gaurs as well as the first signing for their new head coach Juan Ferrando who joined the team last month.

Now it is to be seen, how will Juan Ferrando use the winger in his strategy as FC Goa will compete in ISL and AFC Champions League next season in 2020-2021.
